Dimplex is recalling its portable 10L dehumidifier, after finding a component of the printed circuit board can overheat and set the product on fire.
Dimplex says that owners of this dehumidifier should stop using it immediately, switch the product off at the mains socket, unplug the dehumidifier and contact Dimplex for a replacement.
The recall affects only the portable 10L dehumidifiers DXDH10N and DH212.

Do you own this dehumidifier?
To find out if your Dimplex 10L portable humidifier is being recalled, take a look at its serial number. To find it, you will need to remove the water tank sitting at the back of the dehumidifier (this should be relatively easy, but watch out as the water tank on these models don’t have handles to help you carry it to the sink).
Behind the water tank, the serial number is printed on a sticker on the product rating plate. Products whose serial numbers begin with 0, 1 or 2 are being recalled.
Only the 10L model is affected. Dehumidifiers with a different model or that start with a different serial number are not affected.

How we test dehumidifiers
We have reviews and test results for more than 30 dehumidifiers and rated them from a Best Buy that scored 85%, to a low-scoring 41%. Our tests look at how much water the dehumidifier extracts from the air, how much energy it uses, how noisy it is and how easy it is to use.
