Dyson has opened its first UK shop on London’s Oxford Street, where shoppers can test out its products including vacuum cleaners, fans, and its new hair dryer.
The store, called Dyson Demo, can be found opposite Selfridges and will give customers the chance to get hands-on experience of Dyson ranges before they buy.
Dyson has launched several new products this year, such as the Supersonic hair dryer and 360 Eye robot vacuum cleaner. While more traditional electronics shops might not give you the option to hoover up debris or style your hair in-store, Dyson Demo will give you a chance to test drive them.
Or if you’re just interested in a regular Dyson vacuum cleaner, you can find out which ones we recommend by checking out our Dyson vacuum cleaner reviews.
Dyson Supersonic hair dryer
You might have seen the hype about Dyson’s new Supersonic hair dryer – one of the most expensive on the market. For the £300 it would cost you to buy it, you could get seven of our cheapest Best Buy hairdryers.
But with a motor located in the handle rather than in the head, attachments that snap on magnetically, and the promise of fast, quiet performance, you might be tempted to splash the cash.
To find out if it’s worth the money, you can now can book an appointment for a free blow-dry courtesy of Dyson’s hairdryer experts. Or take a look at our Dyson Supersonic First Look review to see whether our researchers thought it was worth the £300 price tag.
Dyson air purifying fan
The Dyson store claims to provide ‘free purified air on one of London’s most polluted streets’ with its purifying fan. Product experts are demonstrating Dyson’s Pure Cool Link Purifier fan using smoke-filled boxes.
This ‘intelligent’ fan claims to automatically capture 99.95% of allergens and pollutants in the air, adjusts itself when it detects changes, and reports air quality to an app.
Dyson robot vac
Dyson is also exhibiting its brand new Dyson 360 Eye robot vacuum cleaner in store, which it says has twice the suction power of other robot vacuum cleaners on the market. But at £800, you need to be sure it’ll work in your home before you hand over your cash.
Visitors will be able to see the Dyson 360 Eye in action at the Dyson Demo, as well as test out their vacuum cleaners on four different floor types and 64 dust samples.
