FAQs

Brief answers to the questions that we are usually asked

1. How independent are your reports?

Unlike many other 'consumer advice' magazines, Which? is the only publication that accepts no form of advertising, 'freebies' or sponsorship. All our research and campaigning is completely independent and funded by subscriptions to our publications.

2. How long will it take to receive my New Member Pack?

You will usually get your New Member Pack (with your first trial issue, free supplements and gifts) within 2 weeks. Although unlikely, should you experience any delays please call us on 0845 307 4000 or 01992 822800 Monday to Friday 8.30am-8.00pm.

3. Do I have to return my free gift if I don't want to keep receiving Which? magazine?

The gift is yours to keep.

4. Why can't I buy Which? in the shops?

Which? is only available on subscription, which is why we are running this trial offer so that you can try the magazine for yourself.

5. I'm interested in a report on a specific product.

We aim to cover a large range of topics and update reports frequently. However, if you don't find the report that you are looking for, e-mail us at editor@which.co.uk and let us know.

6. What is the difference between Which? and the Consumers' Association?

Which? Ltd is the trading arm of Consumers' Association, and publishes Which? magazine. Both aim to empower people to make informed consumer decisions and achieve measurable improvements in goods and services.

7. What other benefits will I get as a member of Which?

As well as the magazine, Which? offers many extra services to members such as access to which.co.uk, the online service exclusively for Which? members. It provides quick and easy access to all the information you need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call the Members Helpline for instant one to one advice on any purchase you’re planning to make, for the price of a local call. In addition there are free factsheets, Tax Saving Guides, Car Guides and annual reports. There is also access to Legal Services, and shopping services such as Hughes Direct. We are constantly striving to ensure our members get the best information, goods and services.

8. Why do I have to give you my bank/credit card details?

We need to take your bank/credit card details to collect the initial £3 payment and so that if you decide to continue your subscription at the end of your trial, you can do so without us having to contact you again. Remember, there is no obligation to continue after the trial. You can cancel at any time during the trial period and keep the issues and gifts that you have received - and you won't owe us anything. If you have any further questions or have experienced any problems with our website, please e-mail us at editor@which.co.uk and let us know.
