With news that lawyers are about to take action against the makers of Isolagen on behalf of some 90 patients, Jenny Driscoll, Health Campaigner at Which? said:
“Which? supports this group who are fighting for justice. We believe that they were victims of irresponsible marketing that led many of them to lose a huge amount of money. Over 200 people have contacted Which? and between them they spent at least £700,000 on this one treatment.
“The mere fact that some 90 Isolagen patients are threatening legal action is yet another example of why we believe the cosmetic treatments industry needs better regulation. The Government is failing people if they do not take measures to make sure that this industry is policed more effectively.”
Mike Saul, Partner at TJL solicitors said:
“I’ve been investigating these cases for more than six months and am very happy to pursue this matter on behalf of the group.
“I believe that the group has a strong case for redress based on misrepresentation surrounding the selling of the treatment.”
Any former Isolagen customers who would like further information should visit www.which.co.uk/cosmetic and leave details of their story.
