Best 0% balance transfer credit card deals
Watch out for uncapped fees with long-term balance transfer cards
The best credit cards if you owe money on another card
There are two types of 0% balance transfer credit card.
- 0% credit card deals with no balance transfer fee are all short-term (around 5 or 6 months). If you're happy to switch regularly, or plan to pay off your credit card bill in the next few months, these could be the best credit cards for you. These offers are now rare, however, and there are sometimes none available on the market.
- Longer-term 0% balance transfer deals all charge a fee (generally around 3% of the balance transferred to the credit card). These could be the best credit card for you if you think you're going to take a bit longer to repay your balance, or if you don't want to switch credit card every 5 or 6 months
