Which? surveyed over 1500 online dating site users
Which? surveyed members of the public about their experiences of online dating websites during January 2009. We calculated customer satisfaction scores for the most popular online dating websites, and collected information about user satisfaction with various aspects of online dating to produce star ratings for the following categories:
- Ease of registering with online dating site
- Ease of creating/updating online dating profile
- Ease of navigating online dating site
- Ease of contacting potentially suitable dates
- Number of potentially suitable people
- Success in getting a date
- Range of features available
Our online dating survey
We received a total of 1,504 responses from online dating website users, and each respondent was able to rate up to three online dating sites they had used within the previous 12 months.
From this we were able to calculate ratings and a customer satisfaction score for 14 online dating sites.
Online dating customer scores
Our online dating website customer satisfaction scores are based on a combination of both overall user satisfaction and likelihood to recommend the online dating site to a single friend. Both questions are given equal weighting.
