The best tyres for dry and wet grip, quietness and wear rate.
With a huge range of different tyres on test, there was bound to be some variation in quality. Those at the top of the performance scale in each size - our Best Buys - offered good or better ratings for grip and handling and a good balance between aspects like rolling resistance, wet and dry grip and longevity. But our Don't Buys were unsatisfactory, with, in one instance, the worst taking 20m longer to stop than the best tyre tested in that size.
