What are online only energy tariffs?
Some gas and electricity companies offer 'online only' tariffs. These are often the cheapest energy deals available, but you'll need to have internet access and an email address, be open to managing your energy account online (though this is not always compulsory) and receive your bills by email or on the internet. Your welcome pack and confirmation letter will not usually be sent to you through the post.
Managing your account online usually just requires you to enter a meter reading on to the energy supplier's website once every three months. You can view your bills online, although some suppliers will send bills by post; useful if you don't have a computer at home, or prefer paper billing. There may be an extra charge for this.
If you don't have your own computer, you may consider accessing a friend, relative or library's computer once every three months to manage your account.
