Can you explain the results page in the Which? Switch calculator?

Once you've entered information about your current energy usage and your present energy supplier in the Which? Switch savings calculator and clicked on Show Savings, you'll see a list of energy suppliers and how much they would charge you based on your current usage.

Figures shown in black indicate the estimated saving you would make if you switched to that supplier. If switching to a particular supplier will increase your bills, rather than making savings, then the estimated extra amount you would be paying will be shown in red.

Sometimes customers choose to switch to a more expensive energy tariff if it fulfills other more important criteria for them, such as being 'green' or offering benefits such as loyalty points.

Customers who have been on a tariff for a long fixed term may be unable to find a cheaper deal due to price rises in the intervening period.
