Useful ideas to improve your email efficiency
We all get itchy fingers when we’re away from home for a few days, wondering whether there’s an important email waiting in our inbox. Yet, there’s no need to keep yourself in suspense.
Most internet providers offer a webmail service that allows you to check your unread messages from any internet-connected computer, even when you’re abroad. AOL’s, for example, is accessible by clicking on the Email button at www.aol.co.uk. Check your internet provider’s homepage for a similar service.
If your provider doesn’t offer webmail, you can pick up your messages from www.mail2web.com.
To check your email using this website:
Enter your email address and password in the boxes provided and click Check mail.
If you’re logging in from an internet café or public computer, it’s best to select the Secure login option before entering such details, as it will ensure that the next person to sit at the computer can’t get access to your inbox simply by clicking the Back button of the browser.
Once you’ve logged-in, you can read and reply to any new messages that have arrived since you last checked your inbox by following the simple onscreen prompts.
Be aware that this service will give you access only to new messages you haven’t previously downloaded, not the entire email inbox you have on your home computer.
So, if you’re looking to get hold of the driving directions emailed to you a couple of weeks ago, you’re out of luck!
