1Insert comments

To add a comment to a cell simply right click on the cell and click Insert comment

An electronic Post-It Note will appear into which you can type your comment. 

When you hover your mouse above the cell the note will pop-up automatically

2Format cells

The right-click function can give you quick access to the formatting tools you need to change the appearance of individual cells within Microsoft Excel.

Highlight the cells that you want to change and right click. Select Format Cells. From within the resulting dialogue box you can change the type of content within the cells (to currency, for example), or the text alignment (right, left or centre), as well as the font, border and patterns.

3Clear contents

The right click can help you quickly erase information. Highlight all the cells that contain redundant information, right click and select Clear Contents from the pop-up menu. 

4Hide columns

Sometimes if you're working within a large spreadsheet you may wish to hide certain columns away when you aren't using them. Highlight the columns, right click and select Hide
