Apple iTunes tips and tricks Create a CD in iTunes
Print a CD sleeve
If you record a playlist, or an album you downloaded from the iTunes store to CD, you can print out a sleeve to go with it. With your playlist highlighted go to File > Print. Put a tick next to CD jewel case insert.
If you’ve added artwork to your music files you can choose Single cover (if you’re printing an album sleeve) or Mosaic (for a compilation of various album sleeves) from the Theme drop-down menu. Click OK > OK.
Burn MP3 CDs and DVDs in iTunes
MP3 CDs are discs that contain MP3 files instead of ‘full’ audio CD data. Since MP3 files are compressed, it’s possible to fit many more songs onto a single blank disc.
Insert a blank recordable CD and click the Burn Disc button.
Put a tick next to MP3 CD > Burn. MP3 CDs and DVDs will play back on some DVD players as well as almost any computer.
File formats in iTunes
By default, iTunes rips your CDs in AAC format. This is usually fine, but not all programs and devices are compatible with AAC, so you may want to switch to using the more commonly-used MP3 format.
Go to Edit > Preferences > General and click on the Import settings button. Select MP3 Encoder under Import Using > OK.
