The iPod Shuffle - the smallest model in the iPod family

4th generation iPod Shuffle - 2GB

The iPod Shuffle is the world’s smallest music player. It measures just 2.9x3.2cm and weighs only 12.5g. This makes it a great choice for taking to the gym, especially as there’s a handy clip so you can attach it to your clothes while working out.

It's also very cheap. Costing just £39 it's the cheapest ever iPod.

Yet there is a trade-off for the small size and price tag. The Shuffle has no display and so you can't select the song that you want to listen to, instead you shuffle through your library - hence the name.

iPod VoiceOver function

The iPod Shuffle has 2GB memory – enough for about 500 songs. The Shuffle also has Apple's VoiceOver function, which announces the track, artist and playlist names during playback – a great alternative to displaying them visually on a screen.

The Shuffle is available in silver, blue, green, orange and pink.
