Pure Sensia review
http://www.which.co.uk/technology/audio/reviews/digital-radios/pure-sensia/review/
The Pure Sensia certainly stands out from the crowd where looks are concerned. It's an FM/DAB/internet radio with a large, high resolution touchscreen and additional web connectivity features including apps to access to Facebook, Picasa and RSS news feeds. It can also stream music from your computer, but does the sound quality justify the price?

It seems to be a very poor offering from Pure that needs finishing off. Certainly no wow factor evident. When I buy something new I don't want it to be problematical. Also, one of my main reasons for purchase was its ability to record radio shows onto a usb stick whether fm, dab or internet but no one has mentioned about that?? I think I will check out the roberts record r unit. Less flashy but appears to do what it says on the tin. Pros: Cons:

The touch screen is quite unresponsive, and you have to go through lots of steps and finger proding at the screen in order to find stations, particularly internet radio. Whenever it loses power, it has to find all the stations again, which is really annoying. I also find the screen is too bright, but thing there is probably an option to change that - I just can't face trying to find it. Pros: Cons:

Prior to the update, the Sensia was working perfectly and I was very happy with it. The initial software update via the internet, failed and had to be redone via USB. After the update had completed, I could not access any of my 'favourites' set up witin PureLounge.Despite numerous telephone calls to Pure Tech Support, (it took ages for them to understand the problem), the Sensia was sent back to their Tech Support section and they confirmed that they had recreated the same issue on a brand new unit, in addition to the unit I had returned.Pure sent me a replacement. This replacement auto updated as soon as it was connected to the internet and again I lost access to all my 'favourites'.I was very very disappointed. In all other respects however, I was very happy with the Sensia, but I could not live with the software update bug.The Sensia was replaced with an Avanti Flow.I hope Pure has overcome this bug in the current model. Trying to scroll through a long list of stations is very slow on the screen. Now I have 5 favourites saved and rarely try anything else - rather a waste of functions. Pros: Cons:

The Hard/Software does not support this - it had to go back. Pros: Cons:

The large digital clock is very easy to read. It has good sound which is even better when played through my hifi in the lounge. It should be noted that in many cases internet radio stations (of which there are thousands) sound better than DAB stations on a good hifi. You can 'program' your favourite radio stations in the 'Lounge' on a PC which is more convenient than using the radio and this works well. These stations are then automatically downloaded to your radio. The facility to display the weather or bbc news headlines is great when you wake in the morning. I have not had any problems with the snooze button but I do have the most recent (2.4) version of the software which was downloaded automatically without a problem. This is said to have addressed some of the issues experienced with earlier versions. I have occasionally had to press some of the buttons twice to get them to respond but that's usually when another function is operating in the background. The printed instructions are very basic. As noted in the Which? report, go to the Pure website for more detail.Overall though I'm very pleased with it and can recommend it to others wanting a stylish internet radio. Pros: Cons:

It sounds good & the DAB reception is very good, much better then my two Roberts sets. FM reception is worse than the Roberts without RDS. Internet radio is comprehensive but a bit cumbersome finding stations. It was initially fiddly setting up the network connection for the internet. Pure sends updates via internet connection & you cannot reject them for latter downloading. While updating the radio mutes & you can do nothing till its finished. Initially this was very flakey, one failed & I had to update via USB. Its now much better & the radio is now stable.I have given up on the applications only ever using the weather one which does not update properly. If you do not keep you router on full time & try to use internet radio you cannot change channel or switch back to any other source. You have to unplug power plug in & the radio takes a long time to reinitialise to find your network. The remote is a disappointment being really only for volume & changing tracks for streamed audio. The touch screen can be unresponsive needing a second touchOverall it it does what it advertises but not particularly well for too many features. Its a bit disappointing. Pros: Cons:
