Ease of use
We open an email account with each free webmail service and use it as a typical person would.
We send and reply, sort and search emails and browse our way around the accounts' features to test their ease of use and navigation.
The accounts on test vary dramatically when it comes to how easily they allow you to organise your emails and move between pages.
We set up spam filters where available and monitor other security features. We also pay particular attention to the presence of advertising within each account.
We make a log of the various features of each webmail account, which include such items as storage capacity and the maximum size of attachments that can be sent.
