Wi-Fi hotspots How and where to find Wi-Fi hotspots

There are a number of Wi-Fi providers in the UK. You can find more information on where to find the hotspots on the providers website.

  • BT Openzone
  • T-Mobile
  • The Cloud
  • Orange
  • Cashbox ATMs

Online hotspot finders

There are many websites for finding Wi-Fi hotspots. These include:

  • MyHotspots.co.uk
  • JiWire.com global Wi-Fi hotspot finder
  • AtLarge.com provides reviews of UK and worldwide airport Wi-Fi services
  • The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) has more information on Wi-Fi hotspots and international roaming.

Wi-Fi hotspot apps

You can download free and paid-for apps that help you to find Wi-Fi networks for smartphones and mobiles, including the iPhone.

For example the free WiFiZone@UK app gives a free directory of BT Openzone, The Cloud, Orange and T-Mobile hotspots nearest to your current location, and can filter the list of Wi-Fi hotspots by operator.

WiFiTrak (59p) claims to give an improved Wi-Fi network finder compared to the built-in iPhone Wi-Fi function, and can be set to automatically scan and find networks that are in range.
