Canon photo printers

Most Canon compact photo printers are dye-sublimation models. Dye-sublimation printers can be a little noisier than inkjet models.

However, it’s easy to calculate the cost of each photo because they produce exactly the number of photos that is claimed on the cartridge pack. This makes it easier to predict when you need to buy new supplies.

Performance of Canon compact photo printers

Speed and quality

All of the compact photo printers we’ve tested from Canon have scored at least average marks for photo quality. Some models have scored higher than this.

Print speeds vary dramatically. The slowest compact photo printer from Canon took over two minutes to print a 6x4-inch image from computer.

Features

All Canon compact photo printers come with an LCD screen. LCD screens are useful when you print directly from memory card as they allow you to preview and edit your images.

Canon also produce a number of standard and all-in-one printers, some of which are capable of producing very good quality photos.

If you opt for an all-in-one printer you get the added benefit of being able to print large and small photos as well as printing text and graphics and the ability to copy and scan documents.
