Microsoft Zune HD

The Microsoft Zune HD is currently only available to buy in the US, and to date, there is no official announcement about a European or UK launch. The device can be imported or bought when holidaying in the states and works well in the UK - although there are a couple of limitations

The Microsoft Zune HD is a portable media device that is currently only available to buy in the US. It can be imported, however, and while this slick gadget will work in the UK, there are a few limitations.

The Zune HD comes with either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, on which you can store your music, videos pictures and podcasts. The device doesn't have a camera, so you'll have to drag and drop this content onto your Zune HD using a PC - Zunes currently aren't Mac compatible.

Zune HD radio in the UK

Microsoft Zune HD

While the Zune HD does have a Wi-Fi internet connection, you won't be able to download music to the device from the Zune website - as this service is only available to users in the US. Another limitation is that the radio, while digital to US consumers, only provides FM in the UK - but searching for stations is easy to do.

HD films can be stored on the Zune HD's memory, and can then be played back in full resolution on an HDTV with the use of the TV dock. When played back on the Zune HD's screen, they'll only be shown in 480 x 272 resolution, but they still look great on the 3.3-inch screen.

MP3 player reviews

The touchscreen interface is really slick and the general feel of the Zune HD in your hand is very satisfying.
