Laptops: Compare features & prices Samsung Series 5 review

Samsung's Series 5 NP530U4B Ultrabook pushes the definition of this type of laptop to its limits. By our measurements it's actually 1mm too thick to fit within Intel's specification, and at 1.77kg it's also heavier than the norm. But can it measure up to the high-end Samsung Series 9?

Powered USB How many of the USB ports allow you to charge a device such as an MP3 player or a mobile phone even when the laptop/netbook is switched off. Most powered USB ports have an extra symbol that looks like a lightning strike to set them apart from standard USB ports. In our tests we've found that in some cases you have to go into the laptop's settings and switch on the powered USB port function. 1
HDMI For connecting your device to a high definition TV or monitor 1
