OK to start with, but..............
We were tempted with this printer by the low cost ink replacement cartridges. We have had this printer a year now, & we are now looking for a replacement already! We print photos, documents & photocopy in colour & B&W; & although the actual machine itself is ok & does everything it should, the ink doesn't last long. It promises a lot more than it actually delivers, & we seemed to be constantly buying new cartridges.(We always buy genuine Kodak ones) We put new cartridges in 2 weeks ago & it is already saying they need replacing! (we actually monitored how many sheets we were getting when we replaced the inks, & we got as far as 20 sheets before the quality deteriorated dramatically & it said we needed new ink!) The quality has become very poor over the last few months, with faded colours & very lined & patchy print outs, despite cleaning heads, re-aligning etc. When we googled this printer online concerning this problem; we were amazed to find many other people had EXACTLY the same problems & they also got to the magic number of about 20 sheets before the cartridges needed replacing!! I would not recommend this machine.....very disappointed with it!!

Did well with text printing and PDF scans
I don't print many photos on paper so the colour issue didn't bother me. I found the scanning of text useful- would have like an OCR included to use with WORD. It did PDFs well Printing black text was fast and good. Ink costs reasonable. Found it difficult getting wi fi connection with my computer. Had to get someone else to set it up for me in the end

I purchased this after reading 3 so called "expert" reviews, all 3 highly rated. I wanted a good photo printer with reasonable running cost (Kodak cheapest inks) so it seemed to fit the bill. Boy was I disappointed, the colours lacked vibrancy, were pale, although they looked accurate, but the red reproduction was rubbish the best it could offer was some kind of browny red, post box red, no chance. I used a specific test print of flowers to compare Cannon, Epsom, Kodak. The Kodak came a poor 3rd, pale colours and where were the reds? The printer downloaded new drivers from Kodak of its own accord on set up, I refitted the print head and cartridges and ran 3 more alignment sheets-no change. Needless to say it was returned to the supplier without fuss, thank you John Lewis. I am now carefully looking for another photo printer.

Mucky Red
I bought this printer from QVC when it was just brought out. I found it quite large but not a problem. I printed straight from my ipod touch, again not a problem but when my son wanted to print out something that was mainly red, there was the problem, the red was very much like a mucky brown red, thinking i had to change the settings, i tried again, again a mucky brown red, both times it was printed out on card and it was quite grainy, i tried printing out on plain paper, that soaked the paper and the red was still mucky, so i sent the printer back to QVC and i am now on the look out for another printer!
