Sat navs: Compare features & prices Garmin Nuvi 215 review Back to Results

The Garmin Nuvi 215 is similar in function to the 255WT but it doesn't have the same range of features - there's no traffic information, it has only UK mapping - and it has a small standard-format screen as opposed to widescreen. But crucially does it deliver accurate routing?

No nonsense sat nav that has a useful Bluetooth feature
I bought this on special offer having looked at far too many sat navs and being confused by all the different options available!Yes it is small but still plenty big enough to see clearly (and takes up less space in the glovebox/drawer). I was not too bothered about the traffic warning as other reviewers seem to find this a mixed blessing. The real benefit for me has been the Bluetooth feature which allows it to act as a handsfree kit for the car. I spend a lot of time driving local roads where I don't need to be told where to go but do need to be able to use the 'phone safely. The speaker is good but the microphone does make your voice a bit tinny the other end. That said it has worked well and is easy to use. The jury is still out on the Ecoroute function. Compared to my wife's TomTom there is a limited range of voices but a huge range of vehicle icons albeit rather biased to USA objects. The directions are OK but not as detailed as the TomTom, roundabouts are better handled though. In summary a solid choice with (for me at least) a useful additional feature at a sensible price.
