Apple prides itself on its physical product design, and the Airport Extreme looks good. It's the smallest router on test, with a single glowing indicator the only distinguishing feature on the minimalist white box. It is a router only, but it comes with a master ethernet socket to connect to an external ADSL or cable modem. We were keen to test this Apple router to see if it justifies its high price tag.
