Mobile phones: Compare features & prices HTC One X review http://www.which.co.uk/technology/phones/reviews/mobile-phones/htc-one-x/review/
The heavily promoted HTC One X is HTC's flagship smartphone. It's a premium model with a premium price tag - £470 on a pay-as-you-go deal, or from £30 a month on a contract. We sent it to our lab to see if it could live up to expectations.

However, after 3 weeks, it suddenly stopped being able to make/receive calls and texts, while the mobile data was still working. O2 have agreed to swap the phone as it has failed in less than 28 days, but are unable to replace it with the same one as the model has been discontinued. Pros: Cons:

The ringtone and notification sounds apart from beeing on the quite side at maximum, allways rverted to silent mode, eventually was put write after updatin the software. i ahad proplem sendin emails to this day. last week the sorage was full, even though i hardley have any files on it, then it locked up and had to be unlocked by O2 technical department. the last problem is the phone is on silent modse permenatly and i can't put the volum up. It have to be sent for repair for 10 days and O2 would not give me a sutable replacement! I must add, when the phone is working; it's OK Pros: Cons:

The camera is excellent and is not done justice by Which, but they need to update their tests. The size is good especially for web surfing and HTC increased the processor size from the One X and it seems to run as well or better than it's competitors. The battery life is very good and it's strongest feature is it's durability. Dropping it has not caused any noticeable damage. Colleagues of mine with iphones have found them to be much more fragile and tend to break into pieces when dropped. For people who travel a lot and do any kind of hazardous work this is the best on the market. Pros: Cons:

Unfortunately after 6 months it stopped charging and had to be returned to O2 for repair under warranty. They returned a replacement phone and this time the phone couldn'd read SIM cards so has had to be returned to O2 yet again. This is very disappointing as I'm a fan of HTC and loved my previous HTC Desire model. Pros: Cons:

Fast as lightning internet, Amazing battery life, Plenty of updates for the android system on a regular basis (advise downloading using your home wifi connection if you have one, Screen is very sharp and responsive, Excellent storage space so no need of memory cards (my model is 32gb), Has a curve in its shape to prevent screen damage if dropped (yes i have tested this no by choice lol), I would recommend this phone to anyone thinking of there next smartphone, Once again well done HTC Pros: Cons:

I guess it dropped about four feet and it landed screen down onto the road surface. I thought it would have been ruined. Amazingly it survived without a mark to the body or screen. I picked it up and it started working as per normal. The phone is so light and there's a slight curve so when the screen is face down on a flat surface it doesn't touch. This is a beautiful unit to hold and use and is by some margin ahead of the IPhone or the latest Samsung. The processor is so fast and the screen so responsive that it is a great pleasure to use.The camera has a lot of neat tricks like being able to take still picture while using the camcorder. The GPS is good. For the first time when travelling I do not need to take a lap-top.According to WHICH it has the best battery life of any of the leading smartphones though it's wise to turn the screen brightness down when away. My main dis-like is that you cannot get at the battery so carrying an alternative power source isn't possible.I thought it not having an SD card slot would be a problem - but you have 32GB to play with. It is very light and you very quickly get used to, and greatly enjoy, the large screen. I wear a suit a lot and cannot tell I'm carrying it in an inside jacket pocket. Also, I have read some comments about short battery life, not in my experience. Some upgrades seem to have lengthened the life anyway, but I have my phone on from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. , use it for phone calls, emails, browsing, book reading and still have 20% left by the end of the day. I suppose a heavy gamer or film watcher would have to recharge, during the day, but not an average user who has other things to do! Pros: Cons:

I waited a month before getting this phone, originally I was going to opt for the HTC One S after owning a HTC Desire for the past 2 years, I thought that was a good upgrade and I thought the One X would be too big. However, I was glad I waited the month and read the reviews about the lack of storage on the S and no addition of a SD card, so I went for the X and I am so glad I did!It took a little while to get used to the extra size of the phone, not only to hold when making a call but also in the pocket when walking around but now I welcome the larger screen, especially when surfing the web, reading the online papers or watching a film on my train journey.Films look amazing and the photos and videos I have taken are on par with my stand alone Sony compact camera, even when viewed on the TV, they still look crystal clear. The phone runs smoothly and the addition of being able to swipe off the apps not being used helps to keep the battery going and not having things run unnecessarily. So far I have found the memory size to be adequate for my needs with over 150 apps on the phone, some music and some films, I still have space for more. The screens run smoothly and even in bright sunlight, I have been able to see the screen with eas, just setting the brightness higher, definitely a big improvement from the Desire. If I have to say a downside, the headphones supplied with the phone are not the best HTC have produced and not as comfortable in the ear as my old desire ones but the addition of the inline mic on the right ear wire is much better than the desire ones as it is higher up, almost in line with your mouth and people have been able to hear me better when using it. Obviously you can always put your own headphones in if you want. There are also some good apps I have found in the google store which makes the sound quality of my music even better than the player installed.Battery life is the other thing, unlike my work phone, the old faithful Nokia 6300 which has been dropped hundreds of times and last 3 days on a single charge, I do find myself charging the One X every day at least once, but I do use the music for at least 2 hours a day and watch a film for about an hour, plus, checking emails and a little surfing, so more than likely on par with other smart phones and something you get used to.Overall, something pretty special will have to come out now for me to upgrade from the X, otherwise I can see me keeping this one for sometime to come.
