Ricoh CX2 November 2009
Ricoh CX2
The Ricoh CX2 is the upgrade to the CX1 - a compact digital camera that did very well in our tests. Watch the full first look video of the CX2 to find out more about this speedy camera's interesting features
The Ricoh CX2 is an update to the Ricoh CX1. It retains the same 9Mp sensor that proved its worth in our lab tests, but Ricoh has increased the power of the zoom on the new model and sped up the camera's continuos shooting mode.
The Ricoh CX1 could take four photos each second at full resolution. Ricoh claims that the CX2 can snap at an increased five frames per second (fps), which is staggering for a camera of this class. Furthermore, if you sacrifice a little resolution then both models can snap at a breathtaking 120 fps.

The zoom on the CX2 now operates to a factor of 10.7x. Ricoh has also included a few extra scene modes: a silent mode, which is ideal for wildlife photography; a high contrast black and white mode; and a miniature mode, which makes people and cars look like toys.
