Sony has developed an entirely new camera system, the single lens translucent, or SLT, system. The Sony alpha 55 is one of two debut models for this system, along with the alpha 33. Although reasonably priced and with a slightly plasticky feel, this groundbreaking hybrid system offers a performance on par with more expensive models.
