About Toshiba TVs

Toshiba Logo

From the £7,000 55-inch ZL2 with it's 4K resolution screen and 3D glasses-free technology, to a range of basic non-smart models, there's pretty much something for everyone in Toshiba's 2012 range of LCD and LED TV.

With the odd exception such as the ZL2, Toshiba has focused more on value and less on innovation. Its models are often a little cheaper than some of the more mainstream brands, making them a tempting proposition.

Interesting models include the DV and DL combi sets that feature a built-in DVD player - a useful space saver. For smart TV on a budget, the Toshiba 23RL933 comes in at under £300.

Toshiba 40BL702B incontent

The Toshiba 40BL702 is a large-screen model that lacks bells and whistles

With many of us buying a second or even third TV for rooms other than the living room, the Toshiba range of smaller models is worth a look. While some, such as Samsung are making fewer smaller models, Toshiba has no shortage of models under 26" - with 19", 22", 23", and 26" sets all making an appearance.

Don't expect smart TV, 3D or any other cutting edge technology on these, and most come with basic Freeview rather than Freeview HD, but some have Full HD screens and prices on the whole are low.

On the other end of the size scale, Toshiba offers some 40"-plus models at temptingly low prices.
