CES 2011: TVs at CES 2011 Panasonic Viera Connect and Viera Tablet

Panasonic announced its new internet TV interface, Viera Connect, at CES 2011.

The style of the new interface is very similar to the previous Viera Cast interface, but there's now access to an app store and there's now the ability to browse the web - although it isn't the full web-browsing experience available through TVs from the likes of Samsung, LG and Sony.

Panasonic claims that fitness and gaming are among the applications of Viera Connect that the company expects to be popular.

The Panasonic Viera Tablet is more of an accompaniment to a Viera TV than a standalone tablet, but it can operate as one, and the gesture control remote for the 3D interface shown in the video above is only a prototype and might not come to market.

With remote control development we've seen from other manufacturers over the last year, we can expect to see cursor style remotes gradually becoming more commonplace.
