Twin-centre holidays

The Cyclades - Santorini and Folegandros
Combining two Greek islands in one holiday is an excellent way to increase your appreciation of these beautiful locations. We recommend Santorini with Folegandros, which makes a particularly good combination for contrasting vistas. Vienna and Budapest
A two-hour rail journey or a six-hour Danube hydrofoil (which also takes in Slovakian capital Bratislava) makes for a great way to see the capitals of two countries with a shared past. See our Autumn 2004 report on Budapest for more.

Marseille and Paris
This twin-centre break offers a flavour of both cosmopolitan and coastal France, and the journey between Paris and Marseille can be done in three hours on the high-speed TGV train. See our reports on Paris (Spring 2004) and Cheap French City Breaks (Spring 2003), which includes Marseille.

Tallinn and  Helsinki
Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is a compact Gothic gem. A short ferry ride across the Gulf of Finland, Helsinki, by contrast, offers a swiftly evolving, much more modern European capital. Our January 2003 report features Tallinn as well as the other Baltic capitals, Riga and Vilnius.

Corsica and Sardinia
Sardinia's white sandy beaches and turquoise coves are worthy of the Caribbean, while Corsica offers stylish resorts along a coastline of dazzling rocks, eyecatching citadels and sheltered bays. Island hopping is easy, with frequent connecting ferries. For more about the islands, see our January 2006 and Summer 2005 reports.
