About Issue Based Advocacy

An advocate can work with clients, one-to-one, to help explore a specific issues - this could be around anything from difficulties accessing respite, to understanding Lasting Power of Attorney. Advocates are independent from other services and can help clients think about their options, understand their rights and express their wishes. The service is confidential and free of charge. Dorset Advocacy also provides other specialist advocacy services, for example, around applying for Continuing HealthCare and Help with NHS Complaints.
