The Flintshire branch of the North East Wales Carers Information Service (NEWCIS) offers a range of services for carers in the county. They can arrange and carry out a Carers Needs Assessment for a person, which may help them access services that they do not know about. They can also provide a grant of £150.00 to a carer within a two-year period, with priority being given to those who have not received one before. This might be for decorating or gardening work, a holiday, a hobby, or essential equipment such as a new cooker. The COPE scheme provides carers with opportunities for accessing learning, qualifications, or employment. There are a range of free training sessions on topics such as stress management, painting, creative writing, pilates, complementary therapies, self-esteem or computer skills. They also run a number of carers' support groups and produce a quarterly Newsletter.
Please contact the service provider for details of any costs.
