Dementia Cafe

About Dementia Cafe

Gateshead Citizens Advice runs a cafe for people with dementia and their carers to have a cup of tea with someone who understands their situation. Highly skilled staff can give information and help signpost to other available support services. These services can make a huge difference when you or someone you know has dementia. This local Dementia Cafe provides a safe and supportive place for people to: discuss their own dementia diagnosis, or someone else's, and think about what it means for the future; get answers from health professionals and meet and learn from other people in similar situations; keep active, make new friends and feel more confident; have a cuppa and some lunch; enjoy meaningful activities to encourage engagement; feel supported in their local community.
