FiSH volunteers can provide the sort of help that a neighbour or extended family member to provide such as Buying and delivering shopping; Collection of prescriptions; Taking laundry for a 'service wash'; Setting up new phones; Simple one-off gardening jobs (sweeping leaves, pruning); Feeding animals; Reading correspondence; Decluttering papers; Changing light bulbs or transport for appointments. Today FiSH combats loneliness and social isolation in older and vulnerable people living in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen, enabling them to live independent and dignified lives. They connect the community through a volunteer network offering friendship, support and practical help.
