‘TV Anywhere’ lets you watch the box on the move

Device turns your home PC into a TV

People can watch live and recorded terrestrial television on their mobile phones and laptops thanks to a new product which turns home PCs into a TV and digital video recorder.

‘TV Anywhere’ from Hauppauge Digital costs £99.99 and includes a tiny WinTV PVR USB2 device that plugs into a home PC and an aerial.

This turns the PC into a TV and digital video recorder which then uses broadband to send live TV and recordings to your PDA, mobile phone or laptop.

The technology detects the connection quality of the mobile device and compresses the video accordingly.

Internet Explorer

It will work on any mobile phone, any WiFi PDA, any laptop, any PC or any Mac that has Internet Explorer and a media player.

TV Anywhere with a WinTV PVR USB2 tuner is initially available exclusively from DSG outlets, including Dixons, Currys, and PC World.

Future versions will include a WinTV digital tuner to allow users to access Freeview stations.
