Chat show couple Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are switching to a new channel from digital television network UKTV this autumn.
The couple will leave Channel 4 to present a weekday show on Watch, which will occupy the slot currently held by UKTV Gold +1.
Watch will launch on 7 October and will screen re-runs of programmes including Torchwood, Mistresses and Lark Rise to Candleford
At the same time, UKTV Drama will be re-branded as Alibi, a channel dedicated exclusively to crime shows such as Sherlock Holmes and Waking the Dead.
UKTV Gold will be referred to as just Gold and becomes a dedicated comedy channel screening classics like Only Fools and Horses and Fawlty Towers.
The move follows UKTV’s successful rebrand of UKTV G2 as Dave last year.
UKTV Controller Matthew Littleford said: ‘Watch, GOLD and Alibi are dynamic channel brands that are clearly identifiable, full of personality and I believe will future-proof our business as we head towards 2012.’
UKTV currently consists of nine channels – UKTV Gold, UKTV History, UKTV Style, Dave, UKTV Drama, UKTV Documentary, UKTV Food, UKTV People and UKTV Gardens.
The nine UKTV channels are available on Virgin or Sky. UKTV History and Dave are also available on Freeview while UKTV Gold and UKTV Style are available on Top-Up TV.
