These are the first official images of Nissan’s new 370Z sports car.
As you can see, it is similar looking to the existing 350Z coupe, but updates the styling with an edgier, more industrial look that draws inspiration from Nissan’s range-topping ‘halo’ model, the supercar slaying GT-R.
Technical details are scarce – a full announcement is coming in mid-November – but the all-new 370Z is closely linked to the Infiniti G37 Coupe. Infiniti is Nissan’s luxury brand, which is just starting to arrive in the UK.
New 3.7-litre V6 engine
Changes compared to the old 350Z include a shorter wheelbase, and new 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine. This is related to the engine that powers the Infiniti. 3.7 explains the new name; the 350Z has a 3.5-litre V6.
Power output and performance should be considerably improved over the 350Z, which already produces 309bhp, sprints 0-62mph in 5.8 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
The interior also builds on the successful pattern of the current car, but will likely offer further upgrades to the quality of materials.
The new 370Z should arrive in UK dealers early in 2009.
