We had some problems calling Vodafone

Vodafone is slashing the cost of making calls overseas using its mobile network.

Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) and pay monthly customers will be able to talk, text and send picture messages from over 35 countries across Europe for the same price as at home between 1 June and 31 August 2009.

Which? has surveyed thousands of mobile phone users – find out which networks are rated most highly in our best mobile provider review or choose a Which? Best Buy mobile phone handset.

Cheap overseas mobile calls

To get cheaper calls while abroad, Vodafone customers need to sign up to Vodafone’s free Passport service.

Customers will then be able to use any inclusive minutes and texts or be charged standard UK rates when using their mobile in any of the 35 Vodafone Passport countries.

Cheap PAYG calls from the UK

From May 15 2009 Vodafone PAYG customers on the Simply tariff will be able to make international calls to landlines and mobiles from as little as 5p per minute.

Customers can opt in to the new Vodafone International call plan by calling 36888 or texting the word ‘international’ to 2345 from their mobile phones.
