Olympus launches four compact digital cameras

Three budget cameras in the FE range and a new mju

Olympus FE-4000

Olympus has announced three new affordable FE digital cameras – including the £99 Olympus FE-26 – and a new addition to the mju series: the Olympus 7010.

The Olympus FE-26 will be available in pink, blue and black; it sports a 2.7-inch LCD, image stabilisation, and face detection for up to 16 faces. It also features a video recording mode.

The Olympus FE-4000 (pictured) will retail at around £139 in white, grey, magenta, blue and orange liveries. As well as the features included on the FE-26, the FE-4000 also features AF tracking – a function that locks the focus automatically onto a moving object.

Olympus FE-4000 art filters

The FE-4000 also has the art filters that are becoming more popular on new Olympus models such as the Olympus E-620 digital SLR and the Olympus E-P1 micro four thirds camera. These filters include pop art, fish eye, sketch and pin hole effects.

The Olympus FE-5020 will sell for around £169 and is slightly more high-spec than the previously mentioned FE models. It will be available in white, grey, brown and blue variants.

The latest addition to the Olympus mju range is the 12Mp mju-7010. The mju-7010 features a 7x optical zoom and has 15 scene modes. It will sell for around £249.
