Save money on cameras and accessories

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Pentax have introduced new cashback offers on some of their digital cameras and accessories.

Running until at least Christmas Eve, these offers make the cost of Christmas a little bit lighter for those wanting to buy specific products.

It remains to be seen whether Panasonic will follow suit with similar deals of its own.

Canon’s range of superzoom PowerShot SX-series cameras has offers running until Christmas Eve, including £50 on the SX1 IS. Like most cashback offers, you send your purchase receipt to the manufacturer, who then sends you a cheque. More details at the Canon PowerShot cashback webpage.

Canon’s top of the range compact camera is the PowerShot G11. Customers buying the PowerShot G11 promotional box before the end of January 2010 will be able to use the supplied voucher to claim up to £150 cashback on a range of accessories such as flashes, a remote control, a dedicated waterproof case and others. See Canon’s G11 cashback website for more information.

Save money on Nikon cameras

Nikon’s cashback offers concentrate on entry-level Digital SLRs. It is offering £50 cashback on the D5000, and £30 on the D3000, both up until 10 January 2010. See The cashback pages of Nikon’s website for more details.

Cashback from Sony and Olympus

Olympus has also introduced a cashback offer, whereby buyers can reclaim up to £100 on a range of Olympus lenses. A free battery holder or flash can be obtained through the purchase of an Olympus E-30, and a free battery is available with the purchase of an E-620. Both of these models feature in our digital SLR reviews.

Sony is offering up to £70 cashback on selected models until 30th January. See the Sony’s website for more details.

Christopher Christoforou, Which? digital camera expert, said: ‘Cashback offers appear to be coming in threes this Christmas, with good offers from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Pentax. If you buy any of the products covered, make sure you take advantage of the cashback and send your receipt before the deadlines stated on the manufacturers’ websites’.
