‘First universal remote to work with every gadget’

The £25 One For All SmartControl launched today

A £25 universal remote control that its makers claim is the first to work with all the latest digital equipment has been launched today.

One For All says its SmartControl is the first universal remote to control all the latest digital kit such as HDTV, iPod docks, Blu-ray, PlayStation2, Xbox 360, Full HD LCD, home cinema systems and MP3 players.

A spokesman for One For All said: ‘There is no other remote on the market that will work with this list of new media devices. Remotes on the market have tended to be those that work with A/V devices and blu-ray but not things like iPod docks and the Xbox 360.’

Easily control multiple devices with one remote

The control has a new mode that is operated by the so-called SmartControl technology and allows you to control multiple devices without the need to switch between device modes or original remotes.

This means that you can press ‘Watch Movie’ for example and simultaneously control the volume on your TV, as well as the movie functions of your DVD player and amplifier at the same time.

One For All says there’s no need to pore through a manual either as SmartControl is guaranteed to work with all brands.

The SmartControl universal remote control costs £24.99, runs on four AAA batteries (not included) and is available from Argos and Comet.
