Deal of the week: Miele Cat & Dog TT 5000 vacuum cleaner

Which? has been scouring the web this week for the best online deals on the Miele Cat & Dog TT 5000 cylinder vacuum cleaner.

This week Which? got a sneak preview of Miele’s new hybrid vacuum cleaner which claims to be the world’s first vacuum cleaner that can use both battery and mains power

The vac is due to go on sale in March, and with prices starting at £499, this latest model is on the expensive side – so in the meantime we thought we’d track down a good deal on a Miele model that’s already available, the Miele Cat & Dog TT 5000 vac.

The Miele Cat & Dog vac is currently on offer at Hughes Direct, where it’s down to £171.85 including free delivery, making it over £65 cheaper than buying the product from Littlewoods. We also found this vac for £179 at John Lewis.

As the name suggests, this cylinder vacuum cleaner is designed to deal with pet hair and comes with a turbo brush head to pick up hair from carpets and wooden floors.

Which? tests vacuum cleaners

Miele offers an optional 10 year vacuum cleaner warranty, covering parts and labour, on top of the two year standard manufacturer guarantee for £30.

We’ve lab tested the Miele Cat & Dog 5000 vacuum cleaner, along with 17 other Miele vacs including the Miele S4211, Miele S5281 and the Allervac Sensor 5000 – read the full verdict on all these vacuums in our vacuum cleaners review.

You can also take a look at our first look review of the Miele Hybrid S4812.

All prices correct as of 5pm, 16 February 2010.
