Electrolux unveils Powerglide Pet vacuum cleaner

New Electrolux vac designed to tackle pet hair

Electrolux Powerglide Pet

Electrolux Powerglide Pet vacuum cleaner

The Electrolux Powerglide Pet upright vacuum cleaner is the latest vac on the market designed to pick up troublesome pet hair and smells from carpets and upholstery.

The Electrolux Powerglide Pet Z3278AZ has been, according to the company, ‘designed with pets in mind’.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a turbo nozzle with rubber nodules and a filter that includes ‘kid and pet friendly’ baking soda to ‘get rid of odours safely and naturally while cleaning’.

Which? tests vacuum cleaners

Electrolux says the Powerglide Pet has come top of its class for dust pick-up in an independent test – but we’ll be reserving judgment on this vacuum cleaner until we put it through its paces in a full Which? lab test.

According to Which? vacuum cleaner expert Vivienne Fitzroy: ‘Not all vacuum cleaners cope well with pet hair – our test results show that some otherwise decent vacs can struggle to pick it up. We’ll have to wait and see whether this latest model from Electrolux lives up to its pet billing.’

During our tests, we assess each vacuum cleaner’s pet hair pick-up performance by combing cat and dog hairs into an area of carpet slightly larger than an A3 piece of paper, then timing how long each vacuum cleaner takes to pick it up.
