Apple iPad goes on pre-order in UK today

O2, Vodafone and Orange confirm iPad 3G pricing

Guardian on the iPad

The Apple iPad has gone on pre-order today in the UK from Apple’s website, with an expected iPad delivery date – to those successfully placing orders – of 28th May.

Apple’s high-profile iPad comes in wi-fi only and wi-fi with 3G versions, which are available to order in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variations.

The UK version of the iPad doesn’t come cheap though, with suggested prices starting at £429 for the wi-fi only, 16GB model.

Find out more details on how much the iPad is expected to cost.

Apple iPad 3G data plans and pricing

On top of the cost of the iPad itself, to use the 3G mobile broadband network you’ll need to sign up to a price plan with one of the leading mobile networks. O2, Vodafone and Orange are all offering 3G data plans.

To access the 3G network you’ll need to purchase a SIM card from your chosen service provider, and choose a daily, weekly or monthly price plan.
