The Swan at Southrop has beaten off stiff competition to be named Readers’ Restaurant of the Year by The Good Food Guide.
The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year Award was presented to The Swan at Southrop by top chef Jason Atherton at the Which? Awards ceremony held at the British Museum today.
In line with the theme ‘Who cares, wins’, the judges praised its impeccable customer service.
Going the extra mile
Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor of The Good Food Guide, said: ‘We’ve been searching for a culinary gem that goes the extra mile for its customers and The Swan at Southrop exceeded our expectations.
‘As well as the careful sourcing of local raw materials and quality cooking from Sebastian Snow, the friendly service and value for money make it the kind of place we all want at the end of our street.’
The Swan at Southrop owners, Sebastian and Lana Snow, were delighted.
Sebastian said: ‘We’re humbled and honoured to win The Good Food Guide readers’ award in only our second year of trading at The Swan.
‘Needless to say, we owe this to the hard work of all our staff and the loyalty of the customers who have supported us in the 20 months since we first opened.
More than 25,000 diners nominated their favourite restaurants, pubs and cafés in this year’s hunt for the nation’s favourite restaurant.
