Braun Satin Pro hairdryers recalled

Hairdryers recalled after overheating fears

Braun Satin Pro Hairdryers

Braun Satin Pro SPI 2200 and Braun Satin Hair™ Colour SPI-C 2000

Braun is voluntarily recalling its Satin Pro and Satin Hair Colour hairdryers after fears they may overheat.

Braun says the recall is a precautionary measure, following concerns the hairdryers may overheat or short circuit, even when switched off.

Satin Pro Hairdryers

The Satin Pro SPI 2200 and Satin Pro Hair Colour SPI 2100 hairdryers affected were produced between April 2007 and November 2009 and have the product type number ‘3549’ and production codes from 701 – 852.

Safety concern

Braun says a ‘small number’ of hairdryers have failed to meet its quality standards and present a safety risk if not used according to its instructions.

In particular, there is a small risk that the affected hairdryer may ‘short circuit, over heat and start burning if left plugged in, in a very humid environment, even when switched off.’

How to find out if your hairdryer is affected

To find out if your hairdryer is one of the models affected, there’s a picture guide on the Braun website which shows how to identify both the type number and product code.

Anyone with an affected hairdryer should call a free service hotline for more information on how to replace it.

UK: 0800 368 0348

Ireland: 1800 819 068

Braun says this is a a precautionary measure and no other hairdryers or appliances are affected.
