3 UK launches 5 GB one-month mobile broadband contract

Apple iPhone 4 is coming to mobile network operator Three, the mobile operator has confirmed, with Three joining T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone and Orange selling Apple’s new iPhone 4 from June 24.

Three says the iPhone 4, which features Apple’s Retina display claimed to be the highest-resolution display to appear on a mobile phone, will be available to pre-order from Tuesday, June 15.

The new iPhone 4 includes an upgraded 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a new front-facing camera with the ability to host video calling, the ability to record and edit video in high definition, a faster Apple-designed A4 processor, and a thinner, lighter design. Apple says that iPhone 4 will feature a longer-lasting battery with up to 40 per cent longer talk time, and the addition of a three-axis gyroscope for 3D control.

While iPhone 4 UK pricing has yet to be revealed, mobile network operator O2 says it will offer discounted early upgrade offers to its customers. O2 says that iPhone owners not eligible for an upgrade in time for the June 24 iPhone 4 launch in the UK can pay off the remaining contract for a one-off fee equal to £20 for each full month left to run.

O2 says that once paid off, iPhone 4 customers would then have to sign up to an 18 or 24 month contract for the standard retail price, and agree to waive the 14-day cooling off period. Customers won’t be able to backtrack onto their old tariff, either.

O2’s early upgrade offer for iPhone 4 customers includes an early upgrade cost calculator.
