John Lewis store offers new grandparent service

London branch launches grandparent 'refreshers'

Grandparents with granddaughter

A London branch of John Lewis is launching a new service within its nursery department to help grandparents get to grips with the latest baby products and gadgets.

Nursery advisers at Peter Jones, the Sloane Square branch of John Lewis, will offer free half hour to one hour consultation sessions with grandparents where they can get hands-on with the latest pushchairs, carrycots, child car seats, baby monitors and more.

Grandparents will be taken through useful equipment they may want to have at home for when their new grandson or granddaughter come to visit – including feeding, sleeping and travelling essentials.

The sessions can be booked for grandparents only, or as a group appointment with sons and daughters. You can call 020 78816338 or go to the shop to arrange a booking. There’s no obligation to buy any of the products during the consultation.

Peter Jones’ nursery adviser Jenny Broker said: ‘With decades of experience, grandparents can be a great source of knowledge but this service will ensure they have up-to-date facts and advice on all aspects of baby care. Each bespoke consultation offers one-on-one guidance and provides a huge confidence boost.’
