Vauxhall offers lifetime warranty on all new cars

Move covers all fleet and private cars

Vauxhall is offering a lifetime warranty with all of its new cars.

Vauxhall warranty: he new Astra Sports Tourer is covered

The new Astra Sports Tourer is covered

The Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty, which covers all fleet and privately owned vehicles sold after 1 August this year, is being introduced with immediate effect.

But although there’s no time limit, the warranty only offers cover up to 100,000 miles – something other brands have been offering for a long time.

‘Vauxhall is clearly responding to rival offers, such as Kia’s seven-year, unlimited-mile [for the first three years] warranty – and in very eye-catching fashion,’ said Which? motoring editor Richard Headland.

‘If you’re a low-mileage driver who’s looking to buy a brand-new Vauxhall, this is probably great news. It’s a pity Vauxhall hasn’t extended the cover to second owners at this stage, and it remains to be seen what exclusions may lurk in the small print.’

Lifetime warranty

Vauxhall said it would soon be announcing how second owners could purchase a similar warranty.

‘With the Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty, we are making a strong statement of confidence in the quality of our products and a clear intent to provide the very best customer service in the UK,’ said Duncan Aldred, managing director of Vauxhall Motors.
