Everyone knows how important it is to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, but it’s not always easy to eat properly when you’re juggling work and family commitments, particularly at this busy time of year.
Magimix claims its new Salad and Juice gadget could help to make it easier to fit raw fruit and veg into your daily routine, by offering several ways to prepare them.
UPDATE 10/02/11: We’ve had a go with this in the Which? kitchen. See our first impressions and watch the juicer in action in the Magimix Le Duo Salad & Juice first look review.
Four main functions
With four main functions wrapped up in one machine, the £249 Magimix promises to accommodate virtually any type of fruit or veg, without taking up too much space in your kitchen. It includes:
1. Juice extractor for juicing hard and soft fruit and vegetables.
2. A citrus press, with large and small cones to hold differently-sized fruits while you squeeze them.
3. A coulis attachment for creating purees, or jus for desserts.
4. Slicing and grating discs for salad vegetables.
Unusual, with plenty of features
Which? food processor expert Lisa Galliers says: ‘We’ve not really seen many juicers with food processing capabilities on the market before. It’s normally food processors that come with a press/juicer attachment rather than the other way around.
‘We’re seeing more kitchen appliances morphing into one versatile product, but that doesn’t mean they’re great at both tasks. We haven’t tested the Magimix Salad and Juice yet, but are hoping to get it in for a First Look review soon to give you our initial impressions.’
We’ve already tested 18 juicers, see what our experts thought of them all in our juicer reviews here.
