Dell today launched the XPS 15z range of laptops. Starting at £899, they are thin and light, yet thanks to the 15-inch screen they also have a sizeable viewing area making graphics and text easier to view.
According to Dell, the XPS 15z is the first in a series of upcoming new “thin” launches. The 15z replaces the current XPS 15, which we tested last year. Read our Dell XPS 15 review to see how it performed in our tests.
Three XPS 15z laptops are available at launch. All are powerful. Costing £1,199, the top of the range model sports an Intel Core i7-2620M 2.7GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce graphics card and 750GB hard drive.
These specifications are impressive and should provide plenty of power for the latest games and HD video, both watching and editing. An added bonus is a Full HD, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution screen that’s ideal for HD content.
The £899 XPS 15z has a 1366×768 15.6-inch screen, but you can upgrade to the Full HD screen for £100 extra.. Inside, there’s an Intel i5-2410M 2.3GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, a 1GB graphics card and 500GB hard drive.
