Nine new seats tested, including the new Jane Transporter carry cot
In the latest Which? child car seat tests, we’ve put several seats through their paces, including new infant carriers from Jane, Besafe, Chicco and Safety 1st. For older children, we’ve tested seats from Concord, Cybex, Kiddy and Recaro.
Only the independent Which? experts will tell you the seats we recommend and, just as importantly, the ones to avoid.
What’s new and innovative in this batch?
The seat from Jane is the Transporter a Group 0+ carry cot, designed to transport newborns (up to 10kg) in a lie-flat position. And from Safety 1st, we see a Group 0+/1 seat, designed to cater for a child rear-facing from birth, then forward-facing up to around four years old.
For older children, we have conventional Group 2/3 seats from Concord, Kiddy and Recaro, and we have group 1/2/3 seats, aimed at spanning the full weight range from 9-36kg (or around one to 12 years old).
